Using 4by6.com

There are four basic steps required to prepare your files for the 4by6.com printing system:

  • 1Place all designs on 4by6.com templates
  • 2Save design files as PDF
  • 3Add "front" and "back" to PDF file names
  • 4Compress PDFs into a single zip file
Setting Your Bleeds

Always extend images, borders and background colors to the outer magenta bleed line on the 4by6.com template.

OK

If your bleeds are correctly extended...

Your final prints will never have white, unprinted edges.

Don't

If your bleeds are not extended...

White, unprinted paper may appear at the edge of your cards due to minor cutting variations. If this is confusing, please contact Design Support to ensure your bleeds are correctly extended.

Correct Bleed

Images and colors are correctly
extended to the magenta bleed line.

Correct Bleed

If your bleeds are correctly extended
and a cutting variation occurs, your
print will not have any white edges.

Correct Bleed

Images and colors are not extended to
the magenta bleed line

Incorrect Bleed

If you have not extended your bleeds
and a cutting variation occurs, your
print may have white edges.
